Q: What is TIR useful for?

A: It is highly effective in eliminating the negative effects of past traumatic incidents. It is especially useful when: A person has a specific trauma or set of traumas that she feels has adversely affected her, whether or not she carries a formal definition of PTSD. A person reacts inappropriately or overreacts in certain situations, and it is thought that some past trauma might have something to do with it. A person experiences unaccountable or inappropriate negative emotions, either chronically or in response to certain experiential triggers.

Q: How long has TIR been in use?

A: TIR has been in use since 1984 in something similar to its current form. It has undergone minor modifications over the years, mostly in the interest of greater simplicity and teach ability. The need for TIR in our stressfull society is now more important than ever. DR. Elca Erlank and Yvonne Retief will present the TIR workshop together.

In the Trauma Incident Reduction (TIR) Workshop you will learn a broad array of techniques that are designed to bring about relief from life’s greatest hurdle for you to overcome at that point for you.  By using TIR teqniques emotional pain, resistance and confusion, can be removed and bring clients to a place of greater clarity, ease and many times making an important direction choice in there life.

Trauma Incident Reduction (TIR)  is tailored to meet clients’ individual needs (crisis). It starts with an interview to gather information about areas of life that the client wishes to address and improve.

Quality of life is all about being able to use our abilities. When we are stuck in an emotionally negative place, it can be hard to remember that life can be rewarding, bright, and engaging. At the conclusion of Trauma Incident Reduction (TIR) session/s clients feel a renewed interest in life and are no longer distressed about previously upsetting past event and current life situations.

Sessions include: lectures, practicum and video presentations.
